SEO controls how your store appears in search results like Google. Most of the work is per page: every product, page, and post has its own SEO Settings box.
Per-page SEO
When you edit any product, page, or post, scroll to SEO Settings. It has three tabs:
General. The Meta title and Meta description shown in search results. Live character counters tell you when each is a good length. Aim for a title under 60 characters and a description under 160.
Social. The title, description, and image used when the page is shared on social media.
Visibility. Whether search engines should index the page, plus advanced options.
Write a clear, specific meta title and a description that makes someone want to click.
Store-wide SEO defaults
Global defaults, such as the title format and separator, live under Customize › SEO. Most stores can leave these at their defaults and focus on per-page titles and descriptions.
Tips
Put your most important words near the start of the meta title.
Write a unique description for key products and pages. Avoid leaving them blank.
Use real product names and terms customers actually search for.
