Marking a product for FFL transfer

Firearms cannot ship to a buyer's home. They must go to a licensed dealer near the buyer for transfer. You tell your store which products need this by flagging them on the product itself.

Flag a product

  1. Open the product in Store › Products.

  2. In the Product data section, open the General tab.

  3. Check Requires FFL Checkout.

  4. Update the product.

Do this for every firearm. The flag is what triggers the dealer selector at checkout for that product.

What happens at checkout

When a customer has a flagged product in their cart, checkout shows the FFL dealer selector. The customer picks a licensed dealer near them, and the order ships to that dealer instead of the customer's address.

If the dealer selector does not appear

The most common cause is a firearm product that was never flagged. Re-check Requires FFL Checkout on the product. The FFL checkout flow also has to be set up for your store. See Setting up FFL checkout in Getting Started.

Tip

When you import or bulk add firearms, confirm the FFL flag is set. New products do not have it checked by default.
