Conditional shipping and payment rules

Conditional rules automatically hide or show shipping methods, payment methods, and shipping destinations based on what is in the cart or who the customer is. Set them up in Store › Sales › Settings › Restrictions.

What you can do

  • Hide a payment method when the order total is below a threshold.

  • Hide a shipping method for carts that contain certain products or categories.

  • Block a destination for specific products.

  • Limit a payment option to returning customers.

Create a rule

  1. Go to Store › Sales › Settings › Restrictions.

  2. Choose what the rule controls: Payment Gateways, Shipping Methods, or Shipping Destinations.

  3. Choose whether to hide the option, or show it with a notice that explains why it is unavailable.

  4. Add one or more conditions. All conditions must be met for the rule to apply.

  5. Optionally set a custom message for customers.

  6. Save.

Conditions you can use

Filter by billing or shipping location, cart contents, product or category, customer type, order total, package weight, coupons used, and more.

Tip

Keep rules few and simple. If a method ever disappears unexpectedly at checkout, review your rules first, since all conditions in a rule stack together.
