Back-in-stock notifications let customers ask to be emailed when a sold-out product returns. Instead of losing the sale, you capture interested buyers and email them automatically when you restock.
How it works for customers
When a product is out of stock, a small sign-up form appears on the product page below the out-of-stock label. Any visitor, signed in or guest, can enter their email to be notified.
What you set up
Turn it on. Enable notifications in Store › Sales › Settings › Stock Notifications.
Watch demand. Store › Sales › Stock Notifications opens a dashboard of sign-up and notification stats, plus a Most wanted leaderboard showing which products have the most people waiting. The Notifications and Activity tabs show what has been sent and recent sign-ups.
Notification settings. Set a minimum restock quantity before alerts go out, and adjust the email content.
Keep products visible
For the sign-up form to appear, out-of-stock products have to stay visible in your catalog rather than be hidden. Check this first if the form is not showing.
What happens on restock
When you add stock back, the system queues the emails and sends them in batches, so even a long waiting list is handled reliably.
Tip
A waiting list is a ready-made demand signal. If a product collects a lot of sign-ups, prioritize reordering it.
